Mr. Michas has been the Managing Partner of Juniper since its inception. He was the Managing Partner of Stonington Partners, a private equity firm with over $1 billion in assets, from 1994-2010. From 1984 to 1994, he helped to build Merrill Lynch Capital Partners into the leading Wall Street-affiliated private equity firm, assuming management responsibility in 1993 and negotiating the transition that enabled the formation of Stonington Partners. He has been involved in more than 25 significant purchase or sale transactions, 5 IPOs, and a multitude of private and public financings, recapitalizations, and spin-offs. He has negotiated and managed over $2.5 billion of realizations from investments in notable market-leading companies including: Blue Bird, BorgWarner, Burns International, Eckerd, ESSTAR, Lincoln Educational Services, Packard Bioscience Company, and PerkinElmer. Mr. Michas received his B.A. from Harvard University and his M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He is chairman of the board of directors of BorgWarner Inc., a director of PerkinElmer, Inc. and Allied Motion Technologies, Inc., and has previously served on the boards of AirTran Airways, Inc., Burns International, Eckerd Corporation, Lincoln Educational Services Corporation and Packard BioScience Company.
